Assisteens® Membership

Assisteens® is a student-run organization. Teens elect their own governing body, lead by a teen chairman. Meetings are conducted using parliamentary procedure. Assisteens® plan and organize their own philanthropic events. Teens are encouraged to pursue a leadership position. There are over 30 Assisteens® on our Governing Body, including 11 elected positions.
Our Assisteens® membership includes 8th-12th grade boys and girls who attend a variety of area schools.

Meetings
Assisteens® have monthly governing body meetings for the leadership team, as well as monthly general meetings for all Assisteens®. At general meetings Assisteens® eat, socialize, do business and philanthropy.
Philanthropy
Assisteens® support the philanthropies of the Assistance League® in the following areas:
Buddy Programs
- VIP Soccer Buddy Program focuses on working with disabled children through a comprehensive Soccer program.
- Senior Tech Lab assists senior citizens with basic tech support on their phones and computers.
- Arts-n-Smarts brings creative crafts to TUSD students after school.
- Hillview Crafts creates and assembles holiday craft kits for students.

Requirements
- 15 minimum hours of Assistance League® Philanthropy
- 13 minimum hours of Thrift Shop shifts = 4 shifts (each shift = 3.25 hours)
- 4 hours of meetings or social events
- The remaining 4 hours are of their choosing (Assistance League philanthropy, thrift shop, meetings or social events).

*All new Assisteens must be accompanied by an adult for their first Thrift Shop shift.
**8th graders must be accompanied by an adult for all 4 Thrift Shop Shifts.

$50 Installation/Hospitality Fee
